| "The Rest of The Story" In 1997 MR.B, as president of a Transportation Co. - After 10 years of hard work, building from 1 truck to a fleet... while sucessfully managing a US Postal Contract Carrier Route covering 7 States, took advantage of an opportunity suggested by a friend to invest in a yet unknown product.
"No one had ever heard of a PreFabricated Brick Chimney."Anticipating a silent partnership, Mr. B proceeded to recruit a business associate he had once known... a creative salesman who possessed integrity & reliability. With proposal in hand, Mr. B made a brief visit to the Arizona desert to persuade Ron Haas, an "Independent Contractor" to lead his team. With a combined package consisting of, not only Management & Partnership in the New "Swift Products Ltd." but also Operations Manager for a growing Transportation Co.
Mr. Haas had served 20 years with Gemeral Motors TEREX, Fisher Body & Chevrolet Divisions during which time he was recognized for superior performance achievements in manufacturing, scheduling, purchasing & material control. Prior to GM Mr. Haas honed his manufacturing skills in several industrious positions beginning 1964 in California. Following his "Buy-Out" from General Motors Mr. Haas was operating as an "Independent Contractor"... building a new Lubricant Company from the ground up, near Hartville Ohio, with two of his cousins. Upon locating Mr. Haas, what Mr. B was most interested in was Haas' proven marketing abilities. As an Independent Sales Rep. Haas enjoyed building several small businesses... on a shoestring, for not much more than his personal satisfaction. Therefore, knowing full well the "challenges & opportunities" ahead... Haas accepted Mr. B's offer and returned to NE Ohio.
Three years later, after a semi-successful marketing promotion, the Swift PreFabricated Chimneys sold as assembled units. (along with 30% returns for damaged freight) Confused & concerned over how to reduce returns due to "shipping", Haas relocated to California for a two year sabbatical where he redesigned the PreFabricated Chimney creating the Worlds Only "Brick Chimney-in-a-Box", now UPS Shippable. Now after 6 years, with no dissatisfied customers and only 2 questioning their user-frindly assembly & installation instructions, Swift Products Ltd. has found it's "Niche Market" as a New Home Improvement Building Product. The Swift Brick "Chimney-in-a-Box" is now marketed and distributed Nationwide.
